Day for pooches to help Medical Detection Dogs charity

The day offers plenty of fun for all the family and for dogs there are competitions, a Kennel Club-registered Companion Dog Show with pedigree and novelty classes, and events such as agility, obedience, doggy paddle and ‘chase-the-hare’.

Children can enjoy an obstacle course, rifle shooting, tractor rides and bouncy castle, while adult visitors can take part in the tombola and raffle or browse the trade stands.

Food will include local fare such as a hog roast, fish and chips, cheese toasties, soup, specialist sausages, cakes, tea tent and a beer stall.

This is the fourth year for this popular fun day, which last year attracted more than 1,000 visitors and raised enough money to pay for the entire training of a cancer detection dog.

Based in Bucks, the international and ground-breaking Medical Detection Dogs charity uses dogs to help medical professionals detect diseases like breast and bladder cancer, as well as training Medical Alert Dogs to help people live with life-threatening conditions such as epilepsy and diabetes.

Gates open at 10.30am and the event concludes with prize giving at 3.30pm. Entry is £2 per car with all proceeds to Medical Detection Dogs. Follow the signs to the new car parking entrance at the top of Swanbourne Park, MK17 0HZ.
