Staff and residents at Shaftsbury House in Bedgrove enjoyed a whole host of fun and activities this week.
But the event also had a serious message, it was to launch a brand new Connections independent living services, which providees help, support and activities for the older generation so that they can help lead a more fullfilling and active life.
The event was attended by councillor Phil Gomm, who joined in the dancing.
Mr Gom m said: “It’s a fantastic service and even though it covers a broad area now, I would like to see it rolled out even further.
“It is about helping people connect with a whole range of services, from fun activities to computer support.”
As well as the dancing, there was also refreshments, and even live meerkats for residents to pet.
