Woman found dead in Watermead lake

There was a heavy police presence on Watermead in Aylesbury this morning and Bucks Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene after a woman was found dead in Watermead lake

At around 6.30am this morning officers were called, by a member of the public, to Watermead lake, to reports of a body in the water.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

The woman’s body was recovered from the lake and a scene watch has been in place for much of the day.

Police say they have informed the woman’s next of kin and are supporting them at this very difficult time.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Dale Price, of Area CID based at Aylesbury, said: “Today a member of the public has made the sad discovery of a deceased woman, in the water at Watermead Lake.

Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time.

“At this time the woman’s death is being treated as unexplained whilst we continue to make our enquiries.

“We would ask anyone with information that could assist in these enquiries to please come forward and call 101 quoting reference 200 13/4/20.”
