Thames Valley Police warn residents after two distraction burglaries in Cheddington and Wendover

At 8.30pm on Friday (14/8), a man told the victim, an 89 year-old woman, that he needed to enter her property on Station Road, Cheddington to turn off her water.

The man entered the property. The victim saw two other men walking towards the house and told the first man to leave.

Nothing was taken during the incident.

The three men left in a silver or white coloured car and drove in the direction of Cheddington train station.

At 7pm on Monday (17/8), a man entered a property on Hampden Road, Wendover and told the victim, an 83 year-old woman, that he was a plumber.

A number of pieces of jewellery and cash were taken.

The offender is described as white, aged in his thirties, and between 5ft 6ins and 6ft tall. He had a slim build and dark hair and was wearing a face mask.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Andy Jones, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “We believe that these incidents are linked and I am appealing to anyone who has any information to get in touch.
