Street argument turned violent


A man has been assaulted after an argument in the street turned violent.

The incident happened on Friday, June 12 at around 8pm when two men approached a man and woman who appeared to be having an argument in Chaloner Road.

The man, who was standing beside a car containing the woman, then shouted at the two men, one of whom was using his mobile phone.

He then demanded the mobile phone and after the victim refused assaulted him.

The offender is white, in his twenties, slim, and has short blond hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.

The first of two men who were walking together is white, 5ft 6ins, stocky with short blond hair in a crew cut while the second man, who was carrying a mobile phone is Asian, 5ft 10ins, skinny, with black short hair and was wearing glasses.

Investigator Edward Ryan said: “I would like to appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact police.

“I would particularly like to trace the victim of the assault as they have not reported this to the police and the other man who was with him as they may have information which could assist with our enquiries.”
