Police warn Aylesbury public not to approach 18-year-old wanted in connection with assault and robbery of 87-year -old

Thames Valley Police is appealing for the public’s help in tracing a man who is wanted in connection with a street robbery in Aylesbury.

Adelin Olteanu is aged 18-years-old. If you see him, you should not approach him, but instead call 999 straight away.

Olteanu is known to frequent Aylesbury, Manchester, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield and London.

Officers need to speak to Olteanu after an incident in which an 87-year-old man was hit in Aylesbury town centre at around 10pm on Tuesday 17 March this year and had his wallet stolen, containing £10, bank cards and personal items.

The victim suffered a serious head injury as a result of the incident and was treated in Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

He has since been discharged.

Designated investigator Hannah Mitchell of the Aylesbury Priority Crime Team, said: “Despite efforts to locate Olteanu, we have as yet been unable to do so.

“I am appealing to anybody who knows where he is to get in touch with police.

“You can do so by calling 101, quoting reference number 43200090463, or if you wish to remain 100% anonymous, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“You can also make a report online.

“I would also urge the public if they see Olteanu, not to approach him, but to get in touch with police immediately on 999.”
