Police reassure public after investigation into reported kidnap in Aylesbury

Thames Valley Police has completed the investigation into the allegation that was reported on Tuesday 18 August 2020 in Berryfields Road.

A 22-year-old man from Birmingham who was arrested in connection with this incident has been released with no further action.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Chris Beckford said: “Thames Valley Police always takes reports of this nature extremely seriously.

“In this case, officers carried out a thorough investigation to establish what happened and can confirm that, although the reported circumstances were initially alarming, no offences took place.

“I would like to thank the community for their understanding and patience while this investigation has been ongoing.

“Thames Valley Police would always advise members of the public to report suspicious incidents to us by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
