Police are hunting a male cyclist who punched a female car driver as they queued in rush hour traffic on the Wendover Road in Aylesbury last week.

At around 8.45am on Thursday July 21 the 35-year-old victim was driving from the direction of Stoke Mandeville towards Wendover.

She needed to brake sharply as she exited the roundabout towards Wendover and the offender, who was travelling behind her on a bicycle, also had to brake sharply.

The offender followed the victim until she stopped in a queue of traffic when he knocked on the window of the car and punched her in the face.

She suffered facial injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

The offender is white, in his late thirties or early forties, taller than 6ft and of average build, and was wearing Nike sunglasses, a black cycle helmet with a blue sticker on the back, an orange cycling top and a black rucksack.

Investigating officer PC Chris Tindal said: “I would like to speak anyone who has any information about the incident in which a man punched a woman while she was at the wheel of a car.

“Someone may have vital information which could help us in our investigation and I would request they contact police.”

Anyone with information about the incident should call the police enquiry centre on 101.
