A man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for burglary, driving while disqualified and bringing a banned item into a prison.
Lee Robert Hyde, 39, of no fixed address, burgled a home in Buckingham Road, Aylesbury on April 8, stealing electrical items, jewellery and cash.
He drove away in the householders’ car, which was later recovered.
After pleading guilty to all the offences laid before him, he was sentenced to three years and four months behind bars.
PC Samantha Stansbie said: “This is an excellent result and I am very pleased with the sentence handed down to Hyde.
“Burglary is an invasive crime that can affect victims for a very long time.
“Not only is their property stolen but there can also be long lasting psychological effects.
“Tackling burglary is a high priority in the Aylesbury area and this sentence sends out a strong message that we will not tolerate this type of criminal activity and we will prosecute criminals.”
