Yesterday, represented the second time the force has used the LFR van in Aylesbury, following a similar scheme last month.

Between 11am–2pm, the van was deployed in the town centre in Market Square and Aylesbury High Street. Across the three-hour period 1,580 faces were scanned, according to data released by the force.

It was also revealed that the arrested man was wanted on a suspected stalking charge. Thames Valley Police claims that the presence of the van and officers in the town centre led to a decrease in anti-social behaviour and alcohol drinking in public places.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “It was great to see such positive feedback from local businesses and residents, who welcomed the increased police presence and took the opportunity to speak with officers about LFR and local policing.

“We remain committed to keeping our communities safe and tackling crime proactively.”
