The burglar stole 12 crowns of rhubarb, weighing more than 60 KG.

The owner said the thief had left 'barely enough for the plants to survive' adding they clearly 'know nothing about gardening'.

He didn't rule out it being a premeditated theft, as the burglar clearly came equipped with a 'sharp knife' as the leaves had been 'cleanly severed' on site.

He added that 60KGs was clearly 'too much to eat', so asked residents to keep their eyes peeled for anybody offering cheap or free rhubarb in the area.
