Man’s jaw fractured during assault near Santander

A man suffered a fractured jaw after being attacked while walking with his friend in Aylesbury.

At about 1.15am on Sunday, the 20-year-old man was walking towards the Santander bank in the High Street with a friend when they were approached by two men.

Both friends were punched by one of the men. One of the victims was knocked to the ground and suffered a fractured jaw, requiring treatment at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The offender and his companion ran off towards WH Smith.

The suspect is described as Asian, in his twenties, about 5ft 4ins and medium build.

He had shaven hair and slight facial hair and was wearing blue jeans and a black jumper plus white trainers.

Det Con Chris Downs, from Aylesbury police station said: “There were several people at the scene when the incident took place and we would like to speak to anyone who saw this assault.”

A 20-year-old man from Aylesbury was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on police bail until August 16.
