Man attacked from behind in High Wycombe

Police are investigating after a man in his forties was attacked from behind in High Wycombe.

At around 7pm last Wednesday (July 29), the victim, a man in his forties, was walking along West Wycombe Road near the BP Garage when he was assaulted by another man.

The victim was approached from behind and knocked to the ground, sustaining cuts to his head.

He required treatment at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer PC Jemma Wenman, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “This is a busy road and it is likely that others may have witnessed this incident.

A 31-year-old man from High Wycombe was arrested on suspicion of assault with injury and has since been released under investigation.
