Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Aylesbury

A 34-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to a fatal incident in Aylesbury yesterday.

This follows the arrest of a 41-year-old woman from Birmingham, who was cuffed on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

A murder investigation was started by the Thames Valley Police yesterday (April 26), after a man died at about 12.20pm in Grand Union Canal near Broughton on the same day.

He died at the scene of the crime after sustaining serious injuries from an incident the public reported to the police as an assault.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Despite the best efforts of paramedics and police officers, sadly the man died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by Family Liaison Officers.

"We continue to appeal to anyone with any information to contact the force by calling 101, or visiting our website, quoting investigation reference number 845 (26/4).
