Police have released an e-fit of a man with a distinctive tattoo on his face who they want to speak to after a woman was hurt in an attempted dognapping earlier this month.
The incident happened at around 2.10pm on Sunday March 15, when a 50-year-old woman was approached by two men in a field in Tring Road, Wendover, behind the veterinary surgery.
The men attempted to take her dog and threatened her with a weapon. She sustained minor injuries.
Police say the man depicted in the e-fit could have information which may help them with their enquiries.
PC Hollie Cromarty from Aylesbury Local CID said: “This incident left the victim understandably shaken. She was simply walking her dog when she was approached by two men who attempted to take her dog from her.
“Fortunately, they did not succeed and the victim did not sustain any serious injuries, but it is vital that we trace the offenders to prevent them from committing another offence in the future.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency police number on 101 or alternatively to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
