Aylesbury Police warn motorists to be vigilant after spate of catalytic converter thefts

Thames Valley Police have said criminals are targeting car parks around Aylesbury and stealing the catalytic converters from cars.

They have warned that drivers of Honda Jazz or Toyota Prius cars should be especially vigilant, as criminals seem to be targeting these types of vehicle.

Thames Valley Police have said that the thieves are mainly targeting car parks, as Friarscroft, Broadfields and Tring Road Tesco have all seen thefts.

Most thefts have occurred late in the afternoon.

TVP posted to their facebook page: "Do you own a Honda Jazz or a Toyota Prius?

"Then keep your eyes peeled.

"We have had numerous thefts of catalytic convertors from these vehicles in Aylesbury this month.

"Thieves have mainly targeted car parks - Friarscroft, Broadfields and Tring Road Tesco - mainly late afternoon."

They added: "Keep your cars safe, keep vigilant, park where you can restrict access to the underneath of your car and or further security on your converter, welding, bolts etc."
