A drug dealer living in Aylesbury has been given a jail sentence for dealing class A drugs between Buckinghamshire and Scotland.

Last Tuesday (1 October), Tyrees Kuba-Ngoma, aged 20, of Friarscroft Way, Aylesbury, was sentenced to one year and two months’ imprisonment. Aylesbury Crown Court heard that he was also ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge and had his mobile phone forfeited for destruction.

Kuba-Ngoma initially pleaded not guilty to drug dealing offences, but on the second day of his trial he submitted a guilty plea.

He had earlier pleaded not guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs at the same court on 31 March 2023.

His offence was changed to conspiracy on the opening day of the trial, the Aylesbury court discovered.

Thames Valley Police says that Kuba-Ngoma had been identified as part of a drugs line operating between Aylesbury and Scotland, which used the codename ‘Nate’.

On 10 November 2022, officers from Thames Valley and Metropolitan Police broke into a house on Lester Road, Aylesbury, to arrest him.

Kuba-Ngoma was grabbed before he could escape via the backdoor and he was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

Thames Valley Police officers believe he may have been using the house to cuckoo a vulnerable female living at the property. She received support after his arrest, the police force has confirmed.

‘Cuckooing’ is the term used to describe the practice where professional drug dealers take over the home of an at risk adult and use it as a place for criminal activity.

PC Levi Fensom of the Buckinghamshire Proactive Team North said: “Kuba-Ngoma was involved in county lines drug supply and cuckooed a vulnerable person while dealing class A drugs.

“I am pleased that he changed his plea given the weight of evidence against him and will now serve a prison sentence as a result.

“Our Proactive teams will continue to target and pursue drug dealers, whose activities harm our communities and often target the most vulnerable people in our society.

“We will never tire at bringing offenders to justice. Our local communities play a vital role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.

“I would urge anybody who has any information about drug supply to please report this to us.

“You can do so confidentially by calling us on 101 or by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or make a report online via our website.”
