The two crews of firefighters also provided the six victims with emergency care packs due to the amount of smoke the family had inhaled.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Samuel Summers of Aylesbury CID, said: “This is a concerning incident that occurred in the early hours of this morning.

“All of the victims suffered from smoke inhalation which required hospital treatment, but this incident could have been even more serious had they not managed to escape from the property.

“At this stage, we have not got any identified suspects, but we are naturally determined to ascertain who was responsible for this attack.
