Bladed weapons and knives can be placed in these bins anonymously, from there the authorities will safely dispose of them.

The aims of the operation are to remove dangerous weapons from the streets, reduce knife crime and raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife.

Thames Valley Police reiterated that knife crime was a priority for the organisation in February. Releasing a statement addressing concerns raised by five unconnected fatalities involving bladed weapons.
