Councillors have opted to visit the site of a proposed marina before making a decision on the plans.

Aylesbury Vale District Council’s strategic development management committee met on Friday to debate the proposals for the 180-berth marina in Horton Road, Slapton.

The council’s planning officer had said in his report they were in an ‘unsustainable location’ and should be refused.

The marina would be used for the long-term mooring of privately-owned holiday boats and facilities would include dry docks, slipway, parking, toilets, showers, laundry, convenience store and cafe.
