Robin Stuchbury, who is Labour’s only county councillor said that the service is vital, and should not be tampered with.

Last week we revealed that the council has awarded new contracts for providing the service, but some opening hours may be reduced.

Mr Stuchbury said: “Children’s centres are vital, particularly in Bucks where disadvantaged children do so badly in the educational system, and where BCC fails to provide an adequate children’s service to safeguard vulnerable children. BCC says it is committed to providing early education and family support, but it shows this by cutting the budget.”
