Council criticised over grass cutting during school holidays

CONCERNS have been raised after council workers were seen using grass cutting equipment just yards from where children were playing.

Peter Miller, of Quarrendon, complained that maintenance staff were cutting grass in busy park areas during the school Easter holiday break.

He said: “They shouldn’t be doing it where the kids are playing. Why wait until half-term? It’s dangerous.”

Aylesbury Vale District Council says workers are instructed to keep at least five metres away from the public.

A council spokesman added: “It is not practical for grass cutting operations to cease during school holidays.”
