Coronavirus Update August 13: Cases continue to rise in Buckinghamshire

Figures have been updated for the first time this week on Wednesday.

We will keep you updated as and when the Government releases figures, after they were revised earlier this week.

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Buckinghamshire increased by six.

In Aylesbury Vale, there have been 808 cases.

Public Health England figures show that 1,788 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Wednesday (August 12) in Buckinghamshire, up from 1,782 the same time on Monday.

In the UK, there has been 1009 positive tests on Wednesday.

In total 41,347 have died of Coronavirus in the UK.

The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.

The rate of infection in Buckinghamshire now stands at 329 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 481.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 2,157 over the period, to 313,798.

Buckinghamshire's cases were among the 36,083 recorded across the South East, a figure which rose by 131 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
