Community projects across Aylesbury Vale to benefit from funding

A range of community projects across the Vale are benefiting from the New Homes Bonus Fund.

The £1,114,826 is being awarded to seven projects:

> Funding towards the second Paralympic Flame Festival in Aylesbury.

> The building of a new community hub in Aston Clinton.

> The renovation of the driveway at Eythrope Road cemetery in Stone.

> The refurbishment of the community and sports pavilion in Stewkley.

> A new toilet block in Buckingham Town Centre.

> The refurbishment and extension of the Embleton Way pavilion in Buckingham for use as a Scouts headquarters and a community facility.

> A permanent base for Shopmobility in Buckingham town centre.

The New Homes Bonus Fund was set up by Aylesbury Vale District Council using money it receives from central Government when new homes are created in the district.

Cllr Howard Mordue, cabinet member for finance, resources and compliance said: “These funds make such a difference in helping projects around Aylesbury Vale to improve facilities in our local communities.

“I would encourage those who are interested to come forward now and see if AVDC can help.”
