Visitors to the Kimile and Ellesborough Horticultural Society spring show on Sunday April 2 were greeted by a wonderful display of daffodils, tulips and blossoms alongside a great many cakes, jams and preserves. There were 177 entries from 19 different exhibitors on display.
The trophy for most points overall was won by Sue Towersey as was the best domestic exhibit.
Most points in the bulb classes and best horticultural exhibit was won by Graham Talbot as was the Master Class which includes four exhibits from specified classes. Kathy Gray won the cup for most points in the preserve classes. Mary Redding won the society’s prize for Floral Art and Sue Towersey took first in the Open Section floral art class.
Sophie Towersey won four first placings in Novice Domestic and her giant gingerbread man won first in the children’s 8 - 14 year class.
Kieran Shefford won first for his vegetable animal in the 8 - 14 year class and his brother Oliver won first prizes for his giant gingerbread and his vegetable animal in the age 7 and under class.
