Carers sign up for new discount cards

More than 130 carers in Bucks signed up for the Carers Bucks Discount Card which launched in Aylesbury on Friday.

The launch event took place opposite The Entertainer in Friars Square Shopping Centre.

Mayor of Aylesbury Cllr Barbara Russel attended the launch for the card, which is eligible to more than 52,000 people in the county who provide unpaid care to a relative or friend who either has an illness, disability or frailty meaning they require support.

Stephen Archibald, chief executive of Carers Bucks, said: “We are delighted to have launched our new Carers Discount Card here in Aylesbury and over 130 carers registered for it today, which is great.”

The card gives carers discounts at businesses including Lloyds Pharmacy, Arriva, Butlins, Frankie and Bennys, Virgin Experience Days and Stoke Mandeville Stadium.
