Candidates announced in police and crime commissioner elections

The candidates for the forthcoming Police and Crime Commissioner elections in the Thames Valley Police Area have been announced.

Four candidates have been nominated to contest the election on Thursday 5 May.

The nominations are (in alphabetical order):

Laetisia Carter (Labour); John Howson (Liberal Democrat); Anthony Stansfeld (Conservative); and Lea Trainer (UK Independence Party (UKIP)).

Each elector in the Thames Valley Police area has the opportunity to vote for the candidate that they would like to see represent their area.

There is still time to register to vote; the last date for registrations is Monday 18 April.

The deadline for applying for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday 19 April, and the deadline for applying for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 26 April.
