By-election result: Conservatives retain seat previously held by John Cartwright
Cameron Branston is the new district councillor for Grendon Underwood and Brill after a by-election held following the death of former Aylesbury Vale District Council leader John Cartwright.
Cllr Branston received 326 votes in the by-election, which was held just before Christmas.
Lib Dem candidate Julian Newman got 275 votes while UKIP’s Gary Good got 148.
The by-election saw a turnout of 28.8%, while there were five spoilt papers.
The council is now made-up of:
Conservative - 43
Liberal Democrats- 8
UKIP - 4
Labour: 2
Independent: 2
