The council is running a three week survey which started yesterday.

The survey takes about three minutes to complete and the results are going to help shape the council’s new taxi and private hire licensing policy.

The survey will be available online until 27 September, and you can take it by clicking here:

The draft policy will then be subject to a public consultation.

The council say that their main priorities are 'public safety, working effectively with our taxi service providers and updating the policy to reflect current best practice'.

Fred Wilson, Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services at Buckinghamshire Council said: “Across Buckinghamshire every day thousands of people use taxis and mini cabs to get to or from work, for shopping and getting to and from school or for pleasure.

"Over three thousand people earn their living through driving taxis or mini cabs.

"So we know that the policy we put in place will affect a lot of people in many different ways. Before we start working on our draft policy document, we want to hear from as many people as possible so that we end up with a policy which balances the needs of taxi passengers as well as the needs of our local taxi operators and drivers.”
