In a question in the House of Commons Greg asked Health Secretary Matt Hancock: "As my Right Honourable friend works with medical and scientific advisors to cautiously lift lockdown measures what hope can he give the millions of grandparents that they may be able to play a full role in their grandchildrens' lives particularly those engaged in childcare to enable parents to go to work?"

The Health Secretary expressed his sympathy with the plight of grandparents. "Like anybody else who has a heart I yearn for grandparents to be able to see their grandchildren." He added "I yearn to see a restoration of that basic right."

Greg said: "As lockdown measures are cautiously lifted I called on the Health Secretary to give hope to millions of grandparents in the UK that they will soon be able to play a full role in their grandchildren's lives once more, especially those who support their families with childcare arrangements, enabling parents to return to work."

Greg has received a number of letters from constituents asking when the rules will be eased so that they can see their grandchildren again.
