MEP Catherine Bearder and her team are ‘safe and well’ after this morning’s terror attacks in Brussels.
The politician, who is from Aylesbury and represents the South East in the European Parliament, said: “My team and I are safe but feeling shaken after the horrific events in Brussels this morning.
“My heart goes out to all the victims of these cowardly attacks and their loved ones, as well as all those who rushed to help them.
“In these difficult times, the UK must stand in solidarity with Belgium and offer any assistance we can.”
This morning there were two bomb blasts at the capital city’s Zaventem airport, and a second bombing incident at the Maelbeek metro station.
It is currently believed that 34 people have been killed in both incidents, with scores more injured – however the full extent of the atrocities may not yet be known.
