Britain backs BREXIT: The Aylesbury Vale result

53,956 people in Aylesbury Vale voted to leave with a turn out of 78.4%.

52,877 in Aylesbury Vale voted to stay.

With passions running high on both sides the campaign has generated great debate across Bucks, with Tory leaders split in both the Remain and Brexit camps, UKIP leaders on the campaign trail for Brexit and local Lib Dem and Labour leaders saying they would vote to stay in the European Union.

MP David Lidington also campaigned for Remain, he currently holds the government position of Minister for Europe.

At the count yesterday evening campaigners for both the Brexit and Remain camps watched a team of vote counters tally up the final result, in the ballot which has divided the nation.

Nationally, at the time of writing around 20 counts were yet to declare, but the Leave campaign had claimed victory.
