A live grenade was exploded on a Stoke Mandeville wheat farm after being found by an Aylesbury man.
The man was gardening when he uncovered the ancient bomb, and he immediately called police.
Bomb disposal teams from London raced to the scene and transported the grenade to Moat Farm in Stoke Mandeville, the nearest piece of open land.
Farmer Samantha Pearce, 41 and children Chloe, 7 and Max, 5 were only too happy to help. And the children even got to press the button to detonate the device.
