Anchor’s home in Buckingham Park also welcomed PCSOs and volunteers from local charity Men in Sheds for the event.

Wendy Luck, home manager, said: “It’s always lovely to have visitors – including wild creatures, so it was great to make these lovely boxes and encourage wildlife into our garden.

“One resident, John, especially liked painting with the children and making the boxes in really bright colours. He also made seed balls to hang up round the garden.

“Community events like this are always popular with our residents, especially when children are involved. The cubs and beavers enjoyed making cakes and colouring in pictures of birds, followed by homemade soup and a roll. We hope to see them again soon.”
