Patrick McLoughlin, 54, a freelance television camera operator from Tring, has made it through to the final round of Carole Nash’s inaugural photo-biking contest Moto Foto.

Organised by the UK’s leading motorbike insurance broker in partnership with rider magazine Motorcycle News, the competition aims to fuse two of Britain’s most passionate pastimes, motorcycling and photography.

There are four categories: ‘Action’, ‘Scenic’, ‘Static Bike Images’ and ‘Bike Art’.

Patrick, who has been riding bikes for more than 20 years and currently owns a Triumph Tiger 800, entered his picture into the competition’s ‘Scenic’ category.

He has been shortlisted as a finalist by a panel of biking and photography experts.

If selected as one of the 12 winners, Patrick could see his photo featured in Carole Nash’s sought after official 2015 calendar.

The calendar will be handed out to thousands of bike fans at the Motorcycle Live show at the NEC in Birmingham in November.

Patrick is also in the running to win £1,000 in cash and a Nikon D7100 digital camera kit worth £1,079.99.

He said: “I’m really chuffed that my photo has been shortlisted and that it could make it into Carole Nash’s 2015 calendar.”
