Beacon-lighting event in Thame to mark HM The Queen's 90th birthday

A beacon will be lit in front of Thame Town Hall as the town celebrates HM The Queen's 90th birthday on Thursday.

The evening’s celebrations will begin at 7pm and includes performances from Thame Concert Band and Thame Pop Choir, who will lead the singing of Happy Birthday during proceedings.

The 594 Thame Squadron Air Training Corps and Thame Army Cadet Force will also be in attendance.

Following the entertainment, Thame mayor Cllr Nichola Dixon will light the beacon, one of more than 1,000 being simultaneously lit across the country.

Beacons will be lit at churches, on farms, in country parks and on village greens and country estates.
