This is a view of the canal basin and Queen’s Park from the top of County Hall in 1967.

There have been a lot of changes to this area since those days.

Starting at the bottom of the photograph is the rear of the Bear pub on Walton Street.

Now the roundabout and Waterside Theatre occupy the land.

The canal basin is clearly seen in the centre of view with many boats moored there. Beyond to the right is the rear of Aylesbury Brewery Company’s premises and also the technical school, which is where the row of prefab huts are.

That area is now Old Brewery Close. Houses in Queen’s Park are to the left of there and beyond are the factory buildings of printing firm Hazell, Watson and Viney.
