Aylesbury pervert jailed after sex assault on child

A pervert from Aylesbury who sexually assaulted a young girl has been jailed as police commended the victim for her bravery.

Ian Waterworth, 35, of Lister Green, was found guilty by majority jury of intentionally and sexually touching a girl under the age of 13 in January last year in Aylesbury.

He was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Investigating officer Det Con Frances Robinson, from Aylesbury Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to commend the bravery and strength shown by the victim and her mother throughout the investigation, and the trial process.

“The impact of this crime has been extremely difficult for the victim’s whole family to deal with, as Waterworth committed an offence against a young and vulnerable girl.
