Rob Butler, MP for Aylesbury, has launched an art competition for children to celebrate our brilliant local area whilst they stay home during lockdown restrictions.

With people spending a lot more time in their homes and the surrounding area due to the coronavirus restrictions, Rob is encouraging children to create artwork based on what they love most about where they live.

Rob said: “I know that staying at home, away from the routine and certainty of school, has been particularly tough for children.

"So, I wanted to encourage local children to use some of this extra time at home to create a piece of art based on what they love most about their local area.

"This might be a building they have spotted on their daily walk, a beautiful landscape, or a nearby monument."

“We are lucky enough to live in a wonderful part of the country and, at this difficult time, I want to celebrate everything that is great about Aylesbury and the surrounding villages and

hamlets, whilst making sure everybody still stays safe.

“I would like entries from as many different children and places in my constituency as possible, the more creative the better.

"So, whether you live in Bedgrove or Berryfields, Wendover or Widmer End, Hughenden or Halton, please enter!

“The artwork will be displayed in my new Aylesbury office and I look forward to celebrating the wonderful places, and talent, that I have in my constituency.”

All entrants will receive a parliamentary certificate and there will be prizes for the winners.
