Aylesbury goes to the polls for EU referendum

The UK will decide whether it wants to remain in the EU or leave today - and Aylesbury is no exception.

Voters are flocking to the polls, with a steady stream observed at both the Haydon Abbey School and Oakfield Road Surgery polling stations this lunch time.

Polling stations are open til 10pm this evening.

One voter, who said that she would be voting to leave the EU, said that she had brought along her own pen, to ensure that her vote would be properly verified.

Another voter, who said that he would be voting to stay in the EU, said that he was impressed by the amount of people turning out to vote, and the strength of feeling in both camps.

All of the Aylesbury Vale votes will be counted and verified at the Aylesbury Vale District Council offices this evening, and tomorrow Britain will wake up to the result.
