Thea Bartley, 17, from Aylesbury, explains why she was drawn to studying at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy: “I liked how it was targeted to real life – rather than simply learning the theory, you develop and work on your own business during the course.”

Henry Matthews, 16, from Tring has already enjoyed some commercial success – his products are stocked by Aylesbury Skateboards, and he has been nominated for the Chiltern Youth Award for Young Entrepreneur 2017.

Henry says: “My family is in business and I wanted to start out in business myself. I joined the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy to learn how to set up a business. I’ve learned it’s is a gradual process, you don’t get people buying your things straight away.

"I’m taking my Re-skate skateboarder Jewellery down to Chesham market on 8th March to get my name out there and to let people know about my brand.”

Thea Bartley and Henry Matthews will be showcasing their products on the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy stall at Chesham Market on 8th March from 9am-2pm.

The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to realise their business dreams. Set up by Peter Jones CBE, star of ‘Dragon’s Den’, the Academy was born here at Amersham & Wycombe College in 2009. It was first in the UK to offer courses in enterprise and entrepreneurship, where students are able to study how to set up and run a business.
