A chalk garden set on two levels in Great Missenden is open to the public at the weekend.

Overstroud Cottage on Frith Hill (HP16 9QE), the home of Mr and Mrs Jonathan Brooke, opens on Sunday, March 27, 2pm to 5pm, for the National Gardens Scheme. Admission £3, children admitted free.

The artistic chalk garden has a collection of C17/C18 plants including auriculas, bulbs, hellebores, pulmonarias, geraniums, herbs, succulents and peonies, with many antique species and rambling roses. There is a potager and lily pond, and a garden studio with painting exhibition.

Cream teas will be served at the parish church.
