Armed police at the University of Buckingham

At least two vehicles with armed officers have been seen on the site by residents at around 2.30pm this afternoon.

Aiden Gibbons told the Advertiser: “I saw at least three officers with guns, I believe they were semi-automatics.

“My first response was simply ‘Gosh.’ One went to the front entrance, two others went down the side.

“It didn’t scare me seeing police with guns but I can see how someone might be scared. However if there’s a legitimate threat then it needs a response.”

The University of Buckingham and Thames Valley Police have both been contacted for comment.
