Appeal after early morning attack on teen girls

Two teenager were attacked in an early morning assault in High Street, Aylesbury.

At just after midnight on Saturday morning (7/05) the two victims, a 17 year-old girl and an 18 year-old woman, were in High Street Aylesbury near Costa Coffee.

They were approached by two men who then pushed them to the floor and assaulted them; both the victims were punched in the face. Neither required hospital treatment.

Two men were subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and have been released on police bail until 18 June.

Officers would like to speak to witnesses who were in the High Street at the time and who saw the fight take place. They are hoping to hear from one witness in particular, who split both parties up.

PC Rachael Peddie, of the Aylesbury Response Team, said “This key witness is a man in his late 30s or early 40s, who is light-skinned and bald.

“He was wearing a dark short sleeved T-shirt and dark trousers or jeans.

“He appeared to be on his own, and spoke to the victims after he’d broken up the fight to check that they were OK.

“If you witnessed the fight, please call us on 101 quoting reference number 85 (7/5).

“If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
