Appeal after Bedford man injured in single car crash in Swanbourne

A man has been seriously injured after his car left the road in Swanbourne this morning.

The incident happened on the B4032 Winslow Road at about 7.10am today.

A black Renault Clio left the road prior to entering the village of Swanbourne.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man from the Bedford area, received serious leg injuries.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, by air ambulance.

He is currently in a stable condition.

Senior investigating officer, Sgt Simon Hills of the Buckinghamshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who saw the collision, or saw a black Renault Clio being driven from Aylesbury towards Swanbourne prior to the collision to make contact with us on 101 or anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the public who assisted the injured man at the scene.

“A number of roads were closed whilst the scene was examined by collision investigation and I again thank the public for their cooperation and understanding as the scene remained closed for three hours.”
