A dream trip to Peru is the latest fundraiser launched by the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, its first overseas trek.
June Francis and Vicky Benning are the first two people who have signed up for the 10-day trek with chosen company Skyline, from Wednesday November 2 until Friday, November 11, 2016.
Vicky said: “I will never be able to do enough to show my gratitude to the hospice and the staff at Florence.
“The care they gave my mum in her last few weeks was incredible so this is my very little way of saying thank you while completing a life-long dream I had discussed with my mum so many times.”
Trekkers can experience the ancient Peruvian culture, trekking and exploring the remote Lares region of the Andes, visiting traditional Andean villages and remote mountain trails.
The trip also includes a visit to the great wonder of Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most important archaeological finds.
FNHC’s online donor care fundraiser, Teresa King. said: “This trip is suitable for people of all ages.
“The one thing everyone has in common is a sense of adventure and the desire to do something challenging for a great cause.
“Places are extremely limited and get snapped up quickly so to avoid disappointment sign up today and don’t miss out.”
There are two sign up options for the trek in Peru.
Option 1 is to raise sponsorship of £3,860 and then pay a registration fee of £349.
Option 2 is to self-fund the trip at a cost of £1,930 with a registration fee of £349.
The trip cost includes flights, accommodation and meals.
