People do not need to take their polling card along on the day to vote.

On arrival people will be asked for their address and the polling staff will find their name on the register, no ID is required.

Chris Sheard, electoral services manager, said: “We really hope as many people as possible in the district will use their vote.

“All of the postal voters in the district should now have received their ballot papers.
