Ivinghoe gets ready for literary festival

A fabulous day out beckons for readers, writers and all book lovers with a literary festival.

The BeaconLit Festival at Brookmead School in Ivinghoe is being held on Saturday July 2.

The programme for festival 2016 offers a chance to hear from a host of literary talent, including hot debut authors Angela Clarke, Rachel Dove and Jeannie Waudby, and crime writers Alison Bruce, Tracy Buchanan, Fergus McNeill and Dave Sivers.

BBC Oxford News presenter Adina Campbell chats to Amanda Jennings, whose novel In Her Wake is one of the smash hits of 2016; and historical fiction authors Emma Darwin and Liz Harris will be in conversation about new ways of telling past lives.

Janice Raycroft, editor of Buckinghamshire Life and Berkshire life will be talking about making a great magazine, month after month.

The lunch break will also see author Dave Sivers and freelance writer Sandra Smith, together with editor and proof reader Jane Hammett, offering a surgery to answer writers questions.

A full day pass for the festival is £25, and morning, afternoon and single event tickets are also available at £12, £18 and £6.50 respectively.
