Estate agent backs charity Make A Will initiative

None of us like to think about death but it happens to us all, and if we don’t leave a valid Will, we could be leaving a mess for our loved ones to sort out.

Many people put off making a will, even though they know they should – with only an estimated one in three of us having signed on the dotted line.

But November is Make A Will Month – and estate agents Harrison Murray are urging all homeowners to get involved with the Will Aid Charity and get their finances and house in order.

Simply, Will Aid allows people to have their will professionally written by a local solicitor and instead of paying legal fees for that process, the organisation asks for a donation (a suggested £90 for a single will) which it then gives to one of its nine deserving charities.

Harrison Murray managing director Nick Salmon said: “It couldn’t be simpler. No one likes to think about death, but being unprepared should something happen to you often means that without a will, your estate – including your home - is distributed according to the old fashioned laws of intestacy. This may leave loved ones with some nasty surprises.”
