Bucks resident claims to have won major National Lottery 'Set for Life' prize

Camelot UK Lotteries Limited has confirmed it has received a claim from Buckinghamshire, for the Set For Life prize from the draw on 28 December 2020.

Subject to a mandatory validation process one lucky winner in Bucks is set to win £10,000 per month for an entire year.

If the ticket-holder correctly matched all five numbers from the main draw, and did so in line with the National Lottery games rules and terms and conditions, that person will be starting the year significantly richer.

This potential winner, did narrowly miss out on the big prize, whether or not the assessed ticket proves to be valid. Those who match five numbers and the 'life ball' in the 'set for life' competition are rewarded with £10,000 a month for up to 30 years.

Ironically, the life ball, is selected using numbers between 1-10, whilst the contestant must match five numbers between 1-47 successfully in the main draw. Meaning our potential local winner got the 'hard' part right and missed out on further glory when the odds were less extreme.

The National Lottery always let the winning contestant decide whether or not to waive their anonymity after the ticket has been validated and paid.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “What an amazing start to 2021 for this lucky ticket-holder who has now claimed their prize. We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder through the process.

“In the current situation, we’re encouraging everyone to check their tickets online at national-lottery.co.uk or by downloading the National Lottery app, and to only buy their tickets in retail in line with government guidance."

The National Lottery has raised up to £800M that is being used by charities and organisations affected by the impact of the coronavirus outbreak across the communities, the arts, heritage and sport. This includes up to £400M in funding support from the National Lottery Community Fund which is being used to help groups best placed to support people and communities through the crisis – from helping support food banks to causes that combat loneliness and isolation, support for the elderly and projects that aid health in the community.

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.
